Oelo FAQ
Oelo, answered.
What is Oelo lighting?
Oelo is a permanent outdoor lighting system built around a patented channel that holds individually controlled LEDs. You control colors, movement patterns, zones and schedules from the cloud-based Evolution app.
Does Happy Lites install Oelo?
Yes. Happy Lites is an authorized Oelo dealer and installs Oelo systems for homes and businesses in Greater Sacramento.
What is the difference between Oelo's acrylic and metal channel?
Acrylic hides the LEDs behind a translucent lens for a flush, bump-free look and can be painted. The metal channel is fabricated in the United States, powder-coated in standard colors, snaps the LEDs in for even spacing and uses very few mounting parts, which makes it a good fit for narrow fascia. We choose the right one when we measure.
What are face mount, accent mount and under mount?
Face mount points the lights outward from the fascia for the traditional holiday look. Accent mount aims lights up or down a wall to graze an architectural feature such as a pillar. Under mount tucks the channel beneath the eave to wash the wall with color; because the LEDs angle downward, Oelo notes that this look is Dark Sky compliant.
Can I schedule my lights?
Yes. The built-in scheduler lets you program saved patterns by day of the week and plan up to 12 months ahead, so holidays and events happen automatically.
What warranty does Oelo offer?
Oelo publishes a seven-year warranty on installs by its authorized, preferred and platinum dealers, and a five-year warranty on contractor and DIY installs. Ask us for the current terms during your free estimate.
Can Oelo lights work as security lighting?
Yes. Oelo's spotlight controls let you light chosen sections in bright white, so the same system that celebrates holidays can also illuminate entries and walkways.
Can I upgrade an older Oelo system?
Oelo offers a retrofit kit that upgrades the controller on 36-volt systems to work with the Evolution app, and says the swap takes under 15 minutes.
